American Document Securities, Inc. takes very measured steps to protect our environment and will continue to do so no matter what the cost. One of the reasons we do not offer on site shredding is because of the environment. When the customer is educated about the process, we feel that our customers will agree with us. The on site process goes like this: the diesel truck pulls up to your door, brings out your confidential documents in an open environment; revs up the engine for an hour to the highest point and destroys your documents. What does that do to the air quality? You may say, well your trucks are diesel too. Yes but we don’t sit at your door for an hour belching out toxic fumes just to destroy your paper. We choose to bring it back to our facility, and destroy it in a close environment which also is much safer in our professional opinion. Our media is taken to an incinerator, not a dump—even after it is destroyed at our facility. This does cost our company more at that stage, but we feel that we will get our return with clean water and air. Our owner is proud of our efforts to recycle and will make sure every avenue is taken to insure that it is done properly.
